Background
The Sonja Kill Foundation was established in 1993 by Rosemarie and Dr. Winfried Kill in memory of their daughter Sonja, who died tragically in a cycling accident on 8 July 1993 at the age of 21. She was an exceptionally cheerful, loveable and animal-loving person. Her greatest passion was horses. Sonja was a very successful show jumper.
The foundation, headquartered in Bergisch Gladbach, helps women and children affected by poverty, violence or abuse. At the heart of its work is their protection, empowerment and the creation of new life prospects. In addition, the Sonja Kill Foundation is committed to providing medical care for sick and suffering people, as well as supporting people with disabilities.
A distinctive feature of the Sonja Kill Foundation: every donation goes entirely into the local projects. All administrative costs are borne by the founding family. This guarantees that every euro benefits the women and children who urgently need help.
